Chapter House

Recently re-acquired from ZBT, the Theta Chi house on Portland St. is located across the street from Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, one lot away from the row. Newly remodeled, with no shortage of rooms and parking spaces for brothers, our house is in fantastic condition and is one of our chapter's proudest accomplishments. The support from our alumni that allowed us to re-acquire our house this quickly is nothing short of remarkable.

The house itself features a huge living room with two big screen TV's and stereo system, a chapter room, an industrial kitchen, a laundry room, a library, a huge 2nd floor deck, an outdoor courtyard with a 15 ft. pool, and 14 bedrooms for brothers. We also have our own parking lot with space for 17 cars, which to date has had no trouble accommodating all of our cars. Rates for living in the house and parking in the lot are extremely cheap compared to university housing and parking: rent for a triple is currently $450 a month, and parking for a semester is $75 if you're living in the house.

With 86% of brothers living in, the chapter house is often the center of fraternity activities. Each Monday, for example, we hold a chapter dinner in the house, and sorority girls stop by to make their deliveries. That's followed by our weekly Chapter Meeting, where we meet in the chapter room and discuss the affairs of the fraternity for that week. On other days, you can almost always find something going on, whether it be brothers watching TV in the living room, a social or exchange with a sorority, or just hanging out in the courtyard or on the deck.
